Les ruptures intentionnelles de carrière chez les cadres français.e.s souhaitant redonner du sens à leur vie professionnelle : concept et processus

Abstract : A surprising phenomenon is being reported among French executives: a career change accompanied by a downgrade in socio-economic category. Since existing concepts of biographical disruption and voluntary career conversion do not adequately capture this phenomenon, we introduce the concept of intentional career disruption. This new concept is the result of a critical review of the professional mobility literature and is illustrated through the results of a qualitative study of midlife French executives undergoing this process in order give new meaning to their professional lives We highlight the various steps that characterize this process.
