LEADING: ACTING ON ACTIVITY ENGAGEMENT
Diriger : agir sur l’engagement d’activité d’autrui
Résumé
Steering action is not reduced to a power relationship allowing one actor to make another actor act, as in the Weberian definition. Steering action functions as a coupling of activities ordered around the engagement of the action of the directed subjects, and it functions as a communication between subjects.
The present text attempts to specify the characteristics of this action from an anthropological perspective of activities, with the aim of placing social dynamics and contradictions in relation to the functioning of this action. It follows on from research into the activities of leaders of public organisations entitled 'Leading: a job' https://www.decitre.fr/livres/diriger-un-travail-9782296553392.html . It often takes as an example the leadership of organisations, but is not limited to it.
